Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma in English literature. Mitchell started in the field of radio and television reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She was a reporter for the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. In Washington, she was appointed general reporter by NBC News two year later. From 1981 onwards she started reporting from the White House. In 1988, she became head of the congressional reporters. She became the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as chief foreign affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as a host and panelist in the TV news show Meet the Press. She was part of a panel discussion at the the 1988 Presidential Debates, which featured George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg Award in 2004 for her work to protect First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. She covered a wide range of interesting stories such as arm control, budget tax reform, and the Iran-contra scandal. She also went on numerous trips together with the president Reagan to meetings alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
